About Me

Environment Artist | Matte Painter | Generalist

I’m Ethan Goff, an Environment Artist and 3D Generalist who loves building spaces that feel lived-in, cinematic, and grounded in story. I’m especially drawn to environments that reward exploration and strong visual reads—whether that’s a quiet, atmospheric space or something bold and dramatic.

I trained at Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood, earning a Certification in Digital Production and a Best of Term award for Environment Design. Since then, I’ve focused on developing a flexible, end-to-end environment workflow that carries assets from concept all the way to final presentation in Vray, Arnold, or Unreal Engine 5.

My core toolset includes Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter & Designer, Photoshop, Nuke, and Unreal Engine 5, but I’m at my best when I can adapt; learning new tools quickly, jumping between disciplines, and solving problems as they come up. I enjoy the technical side of environment art just as much as the creative one.

When I’m not working, I’m usually hiking, longboarding, gaming, or getting my hands dirty with ceramics. I’m also always ready to deep-dive into Star Wars lore, Middle-earth, or the Star Trek timeline.
